getting the body you want

#fitness #beauty #hot #sexy #shape #ripped #cut #Muscles #Girl #Gym Gym hotties. Gym addict. Eat clean. Fit ladies/woman with a good healthy physique. Work out. Working hard. Abs. Muscles. firm. squats. hot chicks / babes

With my due date approaching I've started to think about and research nutrition while breastfeeding. I want to make sure I am getting the most out of my diet for little man and for my milk production. Not to mention I'd like to get back into shape as quickly as possible. However, during this quest I came across another post I would like to share, especially for us women. (I know, I know- I share a lot but hey, knowledge is power, right?!) She pretty much hit the nail on the head. I can't tell you how many times I have been asked these questions or had this discussion with other females. Heck, I use to be one of them. I was in the dark on fitness and exercise for forever until I hired my trainer, got into shape and started competing. But because I paid attention, asked questions and researched I learned more and more about how to shape my body into the body I always wanted. I have summed up her post below but please continue reading to understand more. You can also click the link below to read her full article.

1. "Toning up" is building muscle.
2. You should be lifting weights!
3. Cardio does not shape your body like you think.
4. You can't spot reduce fat.
5. Nutrition is KEY!

Above is me at my leanest. This pic was taken the day after my bikini competition. For those of you who don't know I was an NPC Bikini Competitor for a few years. I haven't decided when or if I will compete again but if so I will keep you filled in on that journey, especially after baby body and this lovely weight gain.

You must begin to think of yourself as becoming the person you want to be.

And for those nay sayers who tell you, you can't- screw them. You can achieve whatever you truly put your mind to. I ain't saying it will be easy, but it can be done.

I will leave you all with this last pic. No excuses! ;-) Have a Happy Hump Day!

This is going to be me. haha

38 Weeks

YAY for me!! I actually posted a bump pic on time...thanks to my husband being home sick to take the picture. I am pushing 39 weeks and praying that little man makes his arrival sooner rather than later seeing that my Dr said at 36 weeks he was already about 7-7.5lbs. I was actually hoping he would arrive yesterday but that didn't happen. I have a thing with odd numbers....I don't like them so I really hope that he is born on an even digit day. I know, that's trivial and doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things but if I could choose, his birthday would be on an even digit. The exception being today, the 17th since it's St. Patrick's Day and the 19th because it's my Mother's Birthday. That would be special. The Hubs & I are both sick with a sinus infection so that sucks but it hasn't really slowed us down that much. My showers are over and I will post soon on them. We are so so blessed and this little fella is going to be spoiled rotten. I can't wait to hold him in my arms. Anywho, Happy Saint Patrick's Day to you and yours! Enjoy.

Southern Theory 38 Weeks

How far along?
38 weeks
Total weight gain/loss?
too darn much - about 40 pounds and not looking forward to giving up my pizza.
 Maternity clothes?
More like whatever I can fit around me at this point
Stretch marks?
yep yep yep - I'm calling them my battle scars
Sleep?
Ha! Yeah on good nights or when I can catch a nap. I think last night I had 5 pillows strategically placed in a comfy pyramid WITH my snoogle on top. I'm getting pretty freaking creative these days. The Hubs snoring has been a struggle too but I'm not going to complain much on that.
Best moment this week?

Well, we just installed his carseat. I guess we could say Most Interesting moment this week. Glad we didn't wait on doing that till we were leaving the hospital....
Miss anything?
A hardcore, muscles aching, drenched in sweat, on the verge of vomiting, can't get one more rep workout. The gym is calling my name people!
Movement?
Oh you know, TONS but he won't budge from where he is at. Seems pretty content for now.
Food cravings?
 Meh, not really anything lately.
Anything making you queasy or sick?
nada
Have you started to show yet?
yep, obviously
Gender?
 boy
Symptoms?
SWOLLEN FEET- 24/7 swollen ankles and feet. They are either swollen or Hella Swollen. Nothing helps much.
Labor Signs?
Braxton Hicks and all sorts of other pains. Dr. said he had dropped at my appointment last week. We stripped the membranes again but still no sign he is ready to make his debut.
Belly Button in or out?
Outty, yo.
Wedding rings on or off?
Off sadly. However my gracious mom has loaned me her first set from when she & my dad were married. Her fingers are just a tad bigger than mine and they fit perfectly!
Happy or Moody most of the time?
Pretty much happy. Just an even shorter tolerance for stupid. That sounds horrible I know but it's honestly the way I feel. And sorry you can't be mad at me for it either-it's the pregnancy hormones fault
Looking forward to?
 His arrival!!

Acne during Pregnancy

You know how you are suppose to have "that glow" during pregnancy? Well it doesn't always turn out that way for everyone. I've suffered with acne for years now and was very anxious to see how that would go during pregnancy. Not to mention I found out about a year before we got pregnant that I also had eczema- that was great news. Anywho, I talked to my Dermatologist about us trying to conceive and he informed me that he was pretty conservative when it came to acne treatments for pregnant women and breast feeding women, which I absolutely intend to do. At that time I was currently taking an oral antibiotic and using Retin-A to treat my acne. All this had to stop once I became preggers. I admit I was sort of freaked. What was I going to do? My Doc recommended that I try Panoxyl face wash. I was several months into my pregnancy before I actually started using the wash so my face had worsened, but boy was I able to tell a difference. My skin is just as clear as it was when I was taking the antibiotics. Now I'm  not saying this will work for everyone but it's worth a shot. You can find Panoxyl at local drugstores for about $12. It's pretty strong stuff so I recommend just using it once daily  to begin with in order to avoid dry skin, especially during the winter. I use it at night along with my Aveeno moisturizer and use Ambi in the morning with my Cetaphil moisturizer. I also use Aveeno lotion for the rest of my body as it is my favorite and I have horribly sensitive skin. So give it a try if you have acne issues, pregnant or not.

"Mommy" Swim Wear

I've come to the conclusion that you either like Victoria Secret Swimwear or you don't. I get a kick out of how they are mocked and made fun of but hey, I get it too. I mean who really wears some of that stuff?
Ehm, tan lines?

Am, I right? Still though, I usually always purchase a swimsuit from VS each year. And with this years swimsuit catalog already here it's once again time to start thinking about warmer weather and beachwear- some dread it, some don't. THIS YEAR however, has me looking at suits I never would have considered in the past. One pieces, monokinis and tankinis are all on my radar this year as I hunt for my new "mommy" swimsuit. Now don't get me wrong there is absolutely nothing wrong with those styles of suits, they are just not something I ever wore before pregnancy and being 37 weeks with several stretch marks and counting I'm considering a different route this year. I fully intend to bust my butt to get my body back, but plan on being realistic about it. I'm no celebrity with a full time chef and on call trainer nor did I win the lottery in the gene pool.......and for those of you who did you can suck it- kidding. Consider yourself blessed and don't rub it in, ok? It took nine ten months to put on this weight so it's going to take some time to get it off. And before you lay into me about "hiding" my stretch marks just let me say they are not something that I am ashamed of nor do I think you should be ashamed of but, let me display them as I see fit. K, thanks. Anywho, I wanted to share a few of my favorites that I am eyeing.

This one is actually a tankini top and separate bottom. I love this as it is still sexy, revealing a little cleavage, but blousy enough to cover any lovable leftover baby belly.

   Plunge Tankini
VIA

This is another favorite. I love this color and the ruching helps hide any sweet rolls you may have, not to mention- hello ta-tas! Which, if all goes well I will be breast feeding and for the first time in my life will actually have some up top. ;-)

This is a take on the one piece above just in a tankini option.

For those of us who do not have a naturally fabulous derriere this little number offers more coverage in that area. I will soon be hitting squats, lunges and dead-lifts like no ones business to get my rear end back in gear. Right now it ain't so pretty.

I thought this one was a fun little number. However, not everyone can pull it off. Heck, I don't even know if I could pull it off.....

  Fringe One-Piece
VIA

I am obsessed with leopard. I actually consider it a neutral in my wardrobe. This is the same suit as the coral one piece shown above just in a fabulous print. I think everyone needs a little leopard in their closet.
Ruched Halter One-piece
VIA

In love with this Retro piece right here. Ruched in all the right places. Perhaps I will look like a legit pinup girl with my new baby hips and well endowed nursing boobs? Yeah, maybe not but, I still love this suit and think it would work well on many body types.

I passed this one over several times but came back to it for its simple design and functionality. You could chase after your little sea monster or carry around your little mermaid without the fear of exposing your girls to everyone else along the shore. It's still stylish yet would conceal any bulge you may want to hide with it's loose cut.

Doesn't she just look happy? This suit makes me happy. May not be as forgiving as others but, darn it, it just looks cute and makes me feel happy. And I like turquoise.

AND if I had not been carrying my future little sea monster inside my belly for the last 9.5 months I would have ordered something like this. Here's to next year with fabulous stretch marks and all!

Do you have any preferences for that perfect "mommy" swimsuit?

Dads breastfeeding babies? Project Breastfeeding

Came across this article and had to share. This is awesome. I absolutely plan to exclusively breastfeed my baby and know that there are going to be struggles and frustrations along the way. However, this is a first amongst all the information and dialogue I've come across on controversial subject. Props to Mr. Cruz!!
