Obsession with Red Hair

I have an obsession with red hair. If you follow my TRESSES board on pinterest this obsession is somewhat evident.

I have been a blonde for the majority of my life but recently took the leap and went from blonde to red, albeit a suddle one, sort of.

I started out with a more brownish red and fell in love.....

When I added blonde highlights back to it I absolutely hated it so I thought, what the heck, let's go all over red! This was the immediate result.

We also found out the following weekend that we were expecting Baby Green. So I thought I would play it safe and wait until my second trimester before we colored it again. As I'm sure most of you know red color fades FAST so my hair was pretty much a brunette with hints of red in the sunlight by the time my second trimester rolled around. I sent my stylist an inspiration picture of the color I wanted...........

and before ya knew it I was red again.

Oh and I also got bangs. I love them and hate them- they are currently growing out and I am happy with that. I forgot how much of a hassle bangs are, although they are a fun way to mix up your hair style.
I have also been in the process of growing my hair out since late last year. (2012) It was pretty short and has gotten pretty long.

My goal was Kardashian length, but I'm getting the urge to cut it again. I'm afraid once baby gets here I will make the chop, as short hair is so much quicker and easier to manage. I also plan to gradually introduce blonde back into my hair after Baby Green's arrival since that will be in the spring.

What do you think? Do you like the blonde or red? Short or long?

Fall Trend- Camouflage

I love Fall! It is my favorite season, except for Christmas which isn't really a season and I don't really care too much for winter but I love Christmas and I love fall! -but I digress.

Any-who while perusing the internet for fall fashion must haves I had to giggle when I came across this item- Camo Jacket.

It retails for $60 and is something I have in my closet that was never even purchased. ( I did not steal it- it was owned by my family) In fact I have several.... although, usually when I am wearing camo it's because it's a necessity as I am actually in the woods hunting. Nevertheless  I had a nice laugh that this is considered fashionable.

However, camo is a big fall/winter trend this year and before you turn your nose up at the thought of wearing camouflage take a second to actually look at the pieces available out there and think about fun ways you could incorporate it into your wardrobe. It goes great with a neutral or even a punch of color. There are tons of camo items out there this season that are spot on.

10 Weeks

How far along? 10 weeks
Total weight gain/loss? I can tell I've gained - all I can stand to eat are carbs...
 Maternity clothes? almost- showing early!
Stretch marks? no
Sleep? sleeping fine
Best moment this week? The Hubs excitement seeing my belly grow.
Miss anything? yes, feeling like normal- so nauseous
Movement? no
Food cravings? no- food yuck!
Anything making you queasy or sick? just anytime I'm awake...
Have you started to show yet? uhhh....uh-huh definitely
Gender? still a mystery
Symptoms? sick!!!
Labor Signs?  no
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time? just sick but still excited
Looking forward to? not being so sick - praying it's just the first trimester

I was so sick at this point. I had never not felt like myself as I did during my first trimester. It was awful. I didn't want to eat, I had zero energy and could not focus on anything. I had never been so sick that the thought of food made me cringe yet I was absolutely STARVING. Craziness. (if you are easily grossed out do not read forward- you've been warned) The constipation was miserable!!! These are the things no one warns you about or discusses about pregnancy. I was literally like WTF is going on with my body?! I felt as though I had no control over it anymore and every time I heard a woman say "you know, I just never really got sick when I was pregnant" I wanted to wrap my sweet little hands around their neck and squeeze- hard! I knew it was all going to be worth it once I held that precious baby of ours but at that point relief did not seem near. I tried everything from zofran to saltine crackers to ginger to lemon and it just did not matter. I would have short lived relief then back to nausea. It was not a pleasant time.

A shift in the air...

So there's something a brewing in our little home. As you all know I am a southern gal who enjoys the outdoors with her husband and gets excited when hunting season approaches. However, I will not get to enjoy this season quit like last. The reason, you ask?

We are EXPECTING!

That's right, Baby Green will be here March 2014.

The Hubs and I are so excited & nervous all at the same time. This is our first child and cannot wait to find out if the little one is a boy or girl. We are planning a gender reveal party and all that jazz so more to come on that later. I am currently 18 weeks and the picture above was taken about 3-4 weeks along. Hubs & I also made a chalkboard tracker to keep up with my baby bump so more posts are coming soon. I was absolutely & utterly sick sick sick for about 14 weeks but I knew it would all be worth it in the end.

So while I am normally in the woods getting geared up for another hunting season there has been a definite shift in the air as all I can think about is the arrival of our little one. Eeeee.....so excited.

O Christmas tree.

Since we bought a new house this year we will have the entire family at our place on Christmas Day rather than at my parents as usual. And since our new house has 2 living areas that means TWO CHRISTMAS TREES!! I usually decorate our tree in green red and white but am going with a rustic feel in our front living room or hunting room as I call it because it is dedicated to the outdoors with all the Hubs mounts and hunting paraphernalia. So I thought I would share a few inspirational photos of the look I am gunning for.
ha-get it? gunning? hunting room? lol...i digress.

Thing for organization stuff

So I have a slight addiction. I admit it. I love love love any and all things to do with organizing. I could literally loose myself in organization blogs and how to's all day long. I love post it notes and dividers and labels and markers and trays for making things just oh so accessible. Call it what you will, but I am not ashamed. With all this being said as I was recently stalking reading Pink Lou Lou, one of my favorite blogs,  I noticed in one of her pictures a planner/organizer. While everyone else was commenting on the bag (which was a gorgeous Michael Kors bag that I absolutely and totally love and would rock any day of the week) I HAD to ask about the planner. PLL kindly responded and introduced me to the amazing and addicting Erin Condren. It only took me about 4 days before I made my first purchase. And that's only because it took me that long to narrow down my favorites to one. Hey, a girl's got to review her options and make the best choice...

My life planner is on it's way.

It's my intentions to use this planner to track Baby Greens' feeding, growing, etc, etc. along with all my other adventures.I will keep you all posted. I know you are just dying of anticipation, right?

Go ahead and visit her site and order away if you have any sort of addiction as I do. Or if you just need a pretty planner.
