Meet Chief: Our Newest Family Member

I posted in October about the sad and tragic loss of our Lab, "Duck". Well, we finally found another little pup (who is also a yellow Dudley Labrador) that warms our heart. He has big shoes to fill but we are so excited none the less.  He is growing so fast. Here's a few shots of him when we brought him home. I will post more pics soon.

He is growing growing growing & sleeping, sleeping, sleeping (except at night). And I can't forget about Drake. He's still such a mess. Absolutely thinks he rules the roost even though Chief is the same size as him at only 7 weeks.......

The Oscars

So the Oscars were this past Sunday (2/24/13). I didn't get to watch the entire show because I was soooo sleepy. Yeah, lame I know but 4:00am comes early. Anyway, I did manage to see my man Channing Tatum perform and present so that made me feel better about shutting off the TV.

But now to the fashion. While I thought several ladies hit the mark there were many that were lackluster and left me disappointed. A few of my faves included these beautiful ladies below.
Jessica Chastain, Halle Berry, Jennifer Lawrence, Naomi Watts & Amy Adams.

But my absolute FAVORITE look of the night belonged to Stacy Keibler, best known as George Klooney's girlfriend. I fell in love with the dress the moment they showed her on TV. It fit her like a glove, accented all the right places and looked fantastic with her hair. I can't say enough about this Naeem Khan design. It reminds you of the 20's flapper era..... umh, I just love it!

Ok, so lets get on with the show. I didn't see enough of the broadcast to have a true opinion of the new host but from what I did see I was left lacking. I was thrilled, however, to wake-up and hear that Anne Hathaway & Jennifer Lawrence had taken home the Oscar for their categories. I've always been a fan of Anne Hathaway & I ADORE me some Jennifer Lawrence. I mean really, who doesn't love her? (apparently Jack Nicholson does, see video below) She's so genuine and real and makes you laugh because of it. I mean, she fell going up the stairs to accept her award and we love her more for that. Especially when she revealed in the press room after that her first thoughts when tripping were "a 4 letter word that can't be said...... and begins with an F." Now that's a real honest answer.  Yep, it's safe to say that I'd squeal in excitement to meet this leading lady.

She falls as she's walking up to accept her Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role & manages to laugh it off brilliantly. I'd still be in the floor....

Check out the video below of Jack Nicholson interrupting her interview. I love her reaction.

So, did any of you have a best dressed or favorite win of the night? I think I need to catch up on my movies and actually watch some of these films that were nominated.......oops!

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2013

So there are only 2 more days of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. I would love to be participating in this week long event myself. However, I'm sure someone would have to pick my jaw up off the floor because I would be in such awe of my environment. And pretty sure they wouldn't take to kindly to the lady drooling on the runway.

Anywho, I was wondering if any of you have any favorite designers you keep up with during fashion week?  I'm personally excited about seeing what Rachel Zoe brings as well as J.Mendel. But to be honest I just love clothes and fashion in general. Bet you didn't know Apparel Design was my first major in college.

Here's the schedule for Wednesday & Thursday.

I came across a great post from the lovely Lauren Conrad the other day and thought I should share. For those of you not in the know about Fashion Week here are a few facts.....

  1. It was Press Week. Fashion Week was originally called "Press Week" since it was when designers showed off their newest fashions to journalists.
  2. The Big Four. Fashion Week kicks off in New York City, then it heads to London, Milan, and finally Paris (in that order). These cities are known as "The Big Four" in the fashion world.
  3. Fashion Week didn't start in Paris. Believe it or not, Fashion Week originated in New York City. The first Fashion Week took place the early 1940s.
  4. It happens twice a year. Fashion Week occurs twice a year: Once in the spring and once in the fall. Spring shows feature the upcoming fall fashions, while fall shows reveal what's in store for the following spring.
  5. Shows are not slow. The average fashion show is only about 10 minutes long!
  6. You cannot buy tickets to Fashion Week. Aside from a handful of shows, in most cases you cannot buy a ticket to Fashion Week. Typically only industry professionals such as stylists, buyers, high-profile bloggers, editors, and journalists are invited.

So what are your thoughts on this year's Fashion Week? Any major stunners or complete bummers? I'd love to hear what you all have to say.

With Love.

Long Time No See

Well...... It's been a month of Sundays (as they say here in the south) since I posted. It is my full intention to post more often rather than every 3 months. lol In the meantime I thought I'd give you a run down as to what I've been up to.

Did some Christmas shopping with my niece & sister-in-law in gorgeous Destin, Florida.

We had our 10 year reunion this past Fall. Where does the time go?!

Celebrated the birth of Christ with the Fam.
My husband & I always put together a puzzle Christmas Eve.

My husband & I took a trip to the Mountains for our 5 year Anniversary.

I've also been training and really trying to get back in the gym like I should. I've started getting into Crossfit as well, which could be dangerous.....it's so addicting. lol

Finally, in honor of my un-productivity with the Blog, I've posted a link to a very motivating article:

Hopefully it will inspire you to keep at it and get the job done no matter what life throws at you.
Happy Monday!
